I'm a designer living in London, who likes Starbucks, illustrated fonts, bright colours, and Dexter. I dislike people who walk too slow, bad design, and project managers throwing words like 'call to action' willy-nilly in sentences. I'm working at the moment, but are always looking for freelance projects, collaborations, and making new friends.
Here’s another single I did the artwork for. XO Man was the London 2008 HUGO Urban Rukes winner, and the gig was sick! Sugababes, Microwaves, live artwork, and free fragrances. Gotta love it. It’s available for download only on the 13th of April, so check out www.myspace.com/xomanmusic for deets.
I did the cover for Meleka’s first single, another HUGO Urban Rules winner. My personal fave was the Booda mix, but as usual, the best mixes get left out of the final master cd. Still check it out on www.myspace.com/melekaworld.
I was fortunate to get some free tickets to the Video Games Live event held last Friday. And how cool was it!? This is not the same as chip music tho. They had a full orchestra and choir, playing the classical compositions made especially for high-end video games, but also had the classical interpretations of old arcade games and favourites such as Tetris and Super Mario. Loved the random actor in full game character outfit sometimes popping up on stage.
While looking for some *decent* chip toons, I stumbled in this site, www.chiptune.com, and I was instantly taken down memory lane. Love the retro graphics. Makes me wanna dig out my parent’s old 286 computer, with windows 3.1 and get out the old DOS games. Kyrandia, Dig, Commander Keen and Day Of The Tentacle. Damn I miss those ol days. Luckily you now get loads of DOS Emulaters to bring back the fun. Now I just need to find the time to unzip them and try ‘em out.
This is pretty much what happens to me every hour of every day of every week. FOREVER. That’s pretty much why I’m 60% grey already, AT THE AGE OF 25. Somebody kill me please.
Saw this window display in Farringdon the other day. Bugs blowing Daffy’s head off, the blood splatter frozen in time for all of us to see. About time Bugs, Daffy was getting on my nerves.
I so wanted to animate this logo. Like someone that just had a fright, breathing deeply, and slowly relaxed, making their breathing less pronounced, until it was just a very faint sound. Just like that, but I ran out of time. Dammit.
<Terry Tibbs accent from Fonejacker> Band needed some where to put up a free download, but they don’t have a budget for a big website, I said, talk to me! Blog it mate. Wordpress. Bish Bash Bosh. You upload it, you hack the css, fiddle here, niggle there, and WHAM, you godda site. <end Terry Tibbs accent from Fonejacker>
I have a list, and will be publishing the list later on. My mission is to create a 6 degrees of seperation type graph of all the 90’s teen movies starting from Clueless and finishing at Not Another Teen Movie. Im still deciding whether scary movies should be included, and have ruled out the cult films made in the same period featuring some of the actors shouls be included.
These might be added on later. And yes, you’ve guessed it, I’m totally serious about doing this. Check back soon!
